The subject of this etching is debated, as it depicts three “Oriental Figures” mixing with what is most probably a contemporary Dutch woman, in front of a house. This early and widely discussed etching is of superb quality, as the lines are sharp and there is virtually no wear of the later reworked plates of this subject matter. Over the centuries, historians have fully documented this work and museums have sought it out to add to their collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The National Gallery of Art.
