Among Picasso’s earliest great masterpieces, his pivotal 1901 painting Expectation (also known as Waiting (Margot) and Painted Woman) captures a model who frequented the Parisian night clubs. She is rendered in strong bright colors and in a style indebted to Vincent van Gogh and Toulouse Lautrec. This graphic reproduces the legendary painting through photolithography, and it was published in 1966 by the Museo Picasso in only one hand signed and numbered edition of sixty to commemorate the artist’s birthday.
