Christ Driving the Money Christ Driving the Money

Details:

In Christ Driving the Money Changers from the Temple, Jesus has come to the courtyard of the sacred Temple of Jerusalem. He has just witnessed the money changers extract exorbitant fees while exchanging Roman currency into Jewish money. Outraged by their usery, Jesus decides to stop the blasphemy and unleash his anger. Rembrandt depicts this dramatic moment of total pandemonium and chaos – Jesus is upturning a table, sacrificial animals scurry in every direction, while the crowd of onlookers run away.
