Miro invested a great deal of time and energy into this work, as it evolved from a series of experiments. He changed the lithographic inks, the background paper, and even added and removed some of the lithographic plates. Miro published variations of this work on everything from paper to fabric, and he released it in orange, blue, green, and violet inks. Perhaps due Miro’s dedication, it was listed in the exhibition catalogues Miro: L’oeuvre graphique published by the Musee d’Arte Moderne de la Ville de Paris and Joan Miro/Obra Grafica by the Fundacio Joan Miro. It was also fully recorded in the catalogue raisonné Miro Lithographs published by Amie Maeght. Corresponding to Maeght’s description, this work was signed in white pencil, printed on Rives vellum watermarked paper, and numbered from the small edition of seventy five.
